Miriam Gamero studied Design and Visual Communication with a specialization in Illustration at the Faculty of Art and Design in UNAM (2001-2006). She studies Design during her academic training and later, after she had finished, a variety of courses to amplify and update her knowledge in the field, from which the following are highlighted: Drawing, in the frontier of the unkown (2003), Aesthetics of sinisterness (2004), Diploma in printmaking (2008), Techniques and procedures of painting materials (2010), Painting: from Rembrandt to Lucian Freud (2011). Since 2007, she starts to study contemporary dance, classical dance and from 2012 to the present, Butoh dance. During the same year, she starts her Master degree course in Visual Arts, in the field of drawing in the Academy of San Carlos, conducting research in a project which analyzes the field in between dance and drawing. From 2013 to 2014, she carries out research at the Faculty of Fine Arts, in Seville, Spain where she studies Drawing of the movement, Narrative Strategies of Drawing and drawing from life.
She has participated and been featured in numerous individual and collective national and international exhibitions since 2002. In a similar manner, she has performed in diverse dancing presentations, being her last production, the direction and presentation of performance ?Deconstrucciones Cartográficas del alma. Un acercamiento a la poética del dibujo y el Ankoku Butoh?. Cartographic deconstructions of the soul: An approach to the poetics in drawing and Ankoku butoh (2016). Amongst the exhibitions that stand out are: among individual exhibitions ?Paisajes Interiores? Inner Landscapes (2016) and ?Flores Corporales? Corporeal Flowers (2014), collective exhibitions ?56-94 Una generación artística? 56-94 An artistic generation (2016), ?El dibujo en las colecciones municipales? Drawing in municipal collections) at at the museum Alcalá de Guadaira, Seville, Spain in 2014. Such enclosure counts with, in addition in its artists? work collection, a drawing of her authorship, titled ?Paisaje Interior -4? Inner Landscape -4, donated in the period 2013-2014.
Currently she continues her research in visual arts and dance, generating and finding spatial solutions to the presentation of her work, emphasizing such field in between dance and drawing and the production of the work itself.
